Studio Policies

Absences Please inform the studio if your child will be absent more than one weeks absence from his or her classes. If a student is not able to attend class due to illness or family emergency they are encouraged to take a make-up class. Ask your instructor what class the student should attend for their make-up class. Tuition will not be reimbursed for any absence. Please feel free to speak with the Director for any questions you have concerning a prolonged illness or injury.
Performances All interested Students will perform at the end of the school year for family, friends, and the community. Parents of students are responsible for purchasing any costumes required for the performance. Attendance at all classes and rehearsals three weeks prior to the presentation is mandatory. During the year selected students will be invited to perform at different events in the community.
Class Placement Classes are based on both age and ability. During the year, students may be transferred to other classes if necessary and in the best interest of the student. Many factors are considered in determining placement. We place students into levels based on ability, attitude, consistency in work, musicality, and physical and emotional readiness.
Class Size Class size is generally limited to 8-12 students, although some classes may be smaller or larger based on the instructor’s preference. If a class has reached capacity, a waiting list will be started. It is the parent’s responsibility to notify the studio if their child wishes to drop out of their classes, so that students on the waiting list can be added.
Class Rates Class rates are based on a minimum required enrollment. If a class falls below this requirement we reserve the right to cancel the class.
Observation Day Observing days are set 1 week per year and are scheduled in November. We feel it’s important for parents to see their child’s work in progress.
Picture Day Picture Day is scheduled for mid- March each year. All Recital Students must attend for class photos. Students have the option of purchasing packages from the photographer directly. Please see our photo gallery page to view the beautiful samples!
Drop Off-Pick Up Parents may drop off their child just prior to class. For the safety of our students, we ask that you have them wait inside the studio (not outside) before class begins and after it ends. Students must be picked up directly after their class. For your convenience there is a waiting area and you are more than welcome to stay for the duration of your child’s class.
Substitute Instruction We have a wonderful source of substitute instructors to fill in when your regularly scheduled teacher is not able to teach their class. Please know that the substitute instructors are just as capable of teaching a professional dance class as our primary staff.
Please Note Adult students, or parents of minor students, waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on studio property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during, or after class.
